Description:Woman with dark hair parted in the middle wearing a dark dress with an elaborate white ruffled collar. She is looking straight at the viewer, although the nearly waist-length figure is facing three-quarters right. Her coloring is vivid, and she appears to be smiling at the observer.
History of Work:Painted near Gallatin.
Notes:Subject was maternal great-great-grandmother of the owner. She lived from ca. 1791-1846. Mrs. Boddie was the mother of Ella Boddie Craft (Mrs. Henry) also included in this collection.
