A matching light blue shawl is most visible on her left arm.
History:Probably painted in Richmond, Virginia, this is likely the daughter of the man in portrait #358, Mr. Brown. On the reverse is a piece of paper, apparently contemporary, with the inscription written in brown ink: "Mifs J.C. Brown Painted by P.A. Peticolas and put under glafs February 11th 1832 Nashville Tennessee."

Exhibited at Gibbes 2000.
