Description: Portrait of Jane Eliza Porter Campbell with her body turned slightly to the left and her gaze directed toward the viewer. She wears a dark dress with long sleeves, a white lace ruff, and a small necklace. Around her head she wears a white lace cap with ruffles framing her face and a sheer lace veil falling over her shoulders.

Jane Eliza Porter Campbell was born in Nashville, Tennessee in July 1807 and died on Dec. 2, 1849 in Jackson Tennessee. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Jackson, Tennessee. She was married to John William Campbell, and the portrait was painted just before their marriage.
