Description:Both children are seated on a rail fence and are barefooted. Allison is on the viewer's left and wears a blue dress with a high yoke and white peter-pan collar. Her blond hair is parted on her right, and she is balancing herself on the fence with her right hand on a fence post and left on the rail. Marshall is wearing a long-sleeved yellow shirt and blue pants rolled up at the bottom. His hair is also blond and parted on the right, and his right hand rests on his right thigh and his left on the rail behind him. Only his right foot is visible, and he is looking directly at the viewer.
