Description:Waist-length of seated subject smiling, looking directly at the viewer, and holding small pink roses in her right hand at the top of her bodice. Her left arm rests on the arm of the red-upholstered chair, and the left hand lies loosely in her lap. Her dark hair is parted in the middle with curls down to her shoulders, revealed by the cut of her short-sleeved black dress.

Notes:Subject was married to Robert Shipton Currin and was the niece of General Felix Zollicoffer. She is the great-great-great-grandmother of the current owner.
