Description:An oval of a young girl. She has one shoulder bared and wears red draped across her chest. She is facing forward, has brown hair parted in the middle (no curls visible), and blue eyes.
History of Work:The name and date on the back on brass plaque gives her name and birth and death dates. The portrait descended in family hands to the current owner.
Notes:Ellen Dunn, daughter of Col. William Dixon Dunn & Sophia Louise Horton Dunn, was born January 28, 1849, in Mobile, Alabama. She married George Washington Trabue on November 18, 1868, in Nashville, and they had four sons. Mrs. Trabue died in Nashville on August 22, 1883 and was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The portrait descended in family hands to the current owner.
