Description:Waist-length left profile of an older, heavy-set woman who has curled gray hair fashioned in a bun. She wears a gray ball gown with a scoop neck, black boa, pearl tiara, and choker. A bouquet of purple flowers is in her right hand.
History of Work:Signed and dated. Mayna Treanor Avent's husband, James Monroe Avent, was a great nephew of Sarah Polk. This was painted from a photograph.
