Description:Excellent portrait with artist's signature on the letter the subject is holding. Mr. Ferrill is seated in a red chair facing three-quarter left and looking below and slightly to the right of the viewer. He wears a dark top coat over a black coat and vest, a white starched shirt with pin decorating the middle of the front. He wears a black bow or scarf around his collar. He has dark hair and sideburns and brown eyes. Flowers and a drape are in the background.
History of Work:The original sand-covered frame is from Savannah, Georgia.
