Description:Bust-length right profile of an older man with a silvery, short-cropped beard. He is wearing a round hat, perhaps made of fur. A red-checked scarf is the most colorful element in the composition.
History:This work was executed when the artist was 18 years old.
Notes:Artist married Clarence Edwards Sinclair and never painted after she married. The subject was an early Nashville wagon vendor who sold fruit and produce and eventually became a food wholesaler.
