Notes:Reverend Fort became pastor at the young age of 31. During his tenure, 1,094 members were added to the Church, a system of tithing was instituted, and mission activities, such as preaching to soldiers stationed in nearby military camps during World War I, were begun. A men's Bible class with over 500 members met in the Knickerbocker Theatre/movie house in downtown Nashville because they outgrew their assigned space at the Church. Reverend Fort suffered an untimely death in 1921 while still serving as Pastor.
