History of Work:The portrait was passed from the subject to her daughter, Jane Gibson (Morgan), to her daughter, Mary Gibson Morgan (Van Zandt), to her son, Thomas Kelly Van Zandt, Jr., then to his daughter, the current owner.
Notes:Mary Alicia Jackson Gibson was the wife of Nathan Gibson (1827-1878), and the daughter of Alicia Bell Jackson and Hugh Jackson.
