Description:Portrait of a young woman (head to waist with left arm draped in her lap, around waist, right arm resting on chair), in a lace dress with pink ribbon at the neck and waist. Her hair is parted down the middle and braids wrapped in circles over her ears.
History of Work:The miniature was passed from Mary Alicia Jackson Gibson to her daughter Jane Gibson (Morgan), to her daughter, Mary Gibson Morgan (Van Zandt), to her son, Joseph Bedinger Van Zandt, to his daughter, the current owner.
Notes:Mary Alicia Jackson Gibson was the wife of Nathan Gibson (1827-1878) and the daughter of Alicia Bell Jackson and High Jackson.
