Description:Head and shoulders of bald man with busy brown haired "mutton chops," wearing a dark blue coat, white shirt, and dark bow tie/scarf at throat.
History of Work:He was a professor at the University of Nashville, and was one of the elders dismissed in 1843 to go and form Second Presbyterian Church. He came back in 1867 and once again became an Elder in what had now become the First Presbyterian Church.
Notes:The portrait was presented in May of 1920 by his nephew, Joseph D. Hamilton.
