Description:Subject is seated with left arm resting on a table. In her right hand she holds a handkerchief. She wears a dark dress with white lace at wrists that includes small triangle patterns. She has white lace at the neck for a collar and a white bonnet. Her brown hair is parted in the middle. She is facing the viewer. There is a curtain and couch in the background, burgandy in color.
History of Work: Probably painted in Nashville, TN. Subject buried in Nashville City Cemetery.
Notes: Born Magdalena Koehler in Pottsville, PA in 1802. Died in Nashville in 1882. Buried in Nashville Cemetery. Her parents came from Holland, and she was married to Dr. Phillip Harsh.
