Description:Half-body portrait with the subject turned slightly to the left. Dr. Hill is dressed in suit and tie.
History of Work:Portrait given by grateful members of his Sunday School Class to First Baptist and hangs in the Heritage Room of the Church.
Notes:Dr. Hill (1878-1964) was the teacher of the Fidelis Sunday School class of the First Baptist Church for 36 years. Under his leadership, the class grew from an enrollment of 8 in October, 1922 to a peak enrollment of 625 in May, 1940.

He served 13 years as Chairman of Deacons, and is recognized as one of the greatest lay leaders in the history of the church.

His full-time profession in Nashville was that of book editor at the Baptist Sunday School Board.
