Description:Waist-length three-quarter left profile seated of a middle-aged man in a red chair. He is dressed formally in black tie and suit and white shirt. His hairline is very receded, and locks of his straight, thinning hair are combed foward toward his left cheek. His eyes are blue and his cheeks are prominently pink.
History:Painted in New England.
Notes:Sitter is owner's great, great grandfather. He was born in 1788 and died in 1880 in Lanesboro, MA.
