Description:Rachel Jackson seated in half-length portrait, turned slightly to viewer's right. In her left hand she holds a pink rose. She is wearing a black dress with white lace collar, mantilla-style veil with blue ribbons on top and flowers along the lace edges of the veil. She has dangling black bead earrings and her hair is parted in the center with two ringlet curls on each side. She is smiling slightly. A red sofa is visible for the width of the painting and red drapes are on the left back side.
