Description:Waist-length three-quarter right profile miniature of a an older man in a black, double-breasted overcoat, tan vest, and white necktie. His silver hair is parted in the middle, and he is surrounded by a soft blue and pink background suggestive of the sky. The work is framed under glass.
History:Artist may be Sully, of New York, who was also a Charleson, SC miniaturist.
Notes:Subject was born 1754 and died 1829.
He is the owner's great-great-great-grandfather.
