Description:Bust-length of dark-haired woman facing three-quarter right with her eyes turned to look toward her left and to the right of the viewer. She is wearing a light-colored jacket over a red shirt or dress with a gold collar.
History of Work:Susan Bransford Joy, (1903-1960, born in Nashville, was an artist. She studied at the Chicago Institute of Art and then in Paris, France.
Notes:The portrait was inherited by the current owner's husband (now deceased) from his aunt, Susan Bransford Joy.
