Description:Three-quarters right waist-lenght of an older man, balding, with white sideburns, chin hairs all the way under the jawline and tufts above the ears. He is dressed in formal attire, with a white pleated shirt with high collar. His blue eyes have heavy lines and bags around them. He is seated in a red chair, partially visible on the right.
History of Work:Done from life. Could have been painted in New York or New Orleans.
Notes:Subject was well-known in Louisiana as a CSA diplomat, legislator, and planter.
