Description:Frame is original gold-plated on copper with chased bezel.

Oval of a young man with sandy brown hair and receding hair line. Large blue eyes. Black coat and tie. Gold stick pin on white shirt just above the black line ? trimming of a grey vest.
History:Dated on paper inside case. New York City paper inside case has note saying it was painted by John W. Dodge of 485 Pearl Street, NYC, dated July 26, 1834, and that subject is George N. Lawrence.
