Description:Left profile of Lee seated in a wooden and red upholstered armchair and wearing his double-breasted uniform coat with brass buttons over a vest with sinilar buttons, a white shirt and a black bow tie. He is holding a light tan hat in his right hand and his left arm is on the arm of the chair with his hand resting nearly on his lap. There is brown wood paneling behind and to his left, a red curtain behind him, and an outdoor scene to his right and the left of the portrait.
History of Work:In November of 1941, Belle Meade Country Club bought three paintings from Hankins, Cornelius. The framed oil paintings were Robert E. Lee and Andrew and Rachel Jackson.
