Description:Three-quarter portrait of elderly black woman seated with her hands in her lap and looking almost left profile. Her blouse is black, and her skirt and hat are sketched in partially blue. She is wearing a white scarf around her neck, and it crosses to fall almost to her waist.
History of Work:
Notes:Mammy Til (former slave of the Ledbetters or the Lytles) lived in her room at the Ledbetter home from late 1860s until her death in 1920; owner has photographs of subject.
