Description:Portrait of a man wearing a white shirt, vest, and neck tie under a black coat. Sitting in red backed chair with left arm resting on chair back. Rectangular ornate gilt-gesso frame with image in oval center.
History of Work:
Notes:Roger Bradley Mayes (1818-1860) married Ellen McGuire Mayes in 1834 and the couple lived in a home built for them by her father. The home, now known as the Mayes-Frierson Home still stands on West 6th Street in Columbia, Tennessee.
