Description:Dark brown beard and full head of hair. Black and gold Masonic stole with 9 stars and central medallion hanging above right hand in lap. Background dark green. Overall picture has dark cast. Canvas tear on the left side of the face.
History of Work: Restored in 2010 sponsored by Clarksville Lodge No. 89.

The artist, Washington Bogart Cooper, was commissioned to paint most of the Grand Masters, which explains the approximate date of Claiborne's portrait.
