Description: The three-quarter length portrait of Rear Admiral Fran McKee in service dress blues. Bodly turned slightly to viewer's right, face slilghtly to viewer's leftt. Holding white gloves in left hand.
History of Work:Created as part of the Navy Artist Cooperation and Liaison (NACAL) Program for the permanent Navy Art Collection as the request of the Navy Chief of Information Office.
Notes:Elevated as the first woman unrestricted Admiral in the history of the United States Navy in 1976. This two-star naval officer served her nation, with distinction for 31 years. The Admiral died in 2002 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery will full military honors.
