Description:Portrait of Thomas Parker, Captain, British Navy. The small sailing ship in the back, left, is indicative of a British Naval Captain. His dark brown hair is parted on his left and his left sideburn is visible as his body faces slightly right. He has a white high-collared shirt banded with white and a ruffle visible at the opening of his dark jacket. The background ship is a part of a seascape with clouds and a shoreline.
History of Work:This portrait, a copy of the original, was painted in St. Louis, MO, and was inherited by present owner at the death of her husband's mother.
