Description:Mary Frances Battle Perry as a young girl, in a white dress with ruffles and a large white bow in her hair.
History of Work:Presented to the library in 2003 by the Estate of Anne Elizabeth Battle.
Notes:Mary Frances Battle, born May 30, 1896, was the daughter of Alfred Blackman Battle and his first wife Fannie Scott Miller. She was the half-sister of Anne Elizabeth Battle. the wife of Henry Rutledge Perry, and the great-niece of Mary Frances "Fannie" Battle. She graduated from Vanderbilt University and taught history in Mississippi and Louisiana.
