Description:Subject is seated in armchair wearing a dark blue academic robe with red trim on his slightly lighter blue hood. His arms are resting on the chair arms, and he holds his mortar board in his left hand which has a ring on the ring finger. His body is facing three-quarter right; however, his head, with receeding hairline and gray hair parted on his left, is turned to look directly at the viewer. There is a filled bookcase behind his right shoulder.
