Description:Subject is a young woman, facing slightly left and looking directly at the viewer, although her head remains turned to her left. She is wearing a lacy v-neck long-sleeved dress with an over dress of black falling below her shoulders and revealing the lace on what is visible of her arms. Her long dark hair is parted in the middle and falls to her shoulders.
History of Work:Portrait is listed in Washington Cooper's account book.
Notes:She was the daughter of Nathaniel McNairy and Catherine Hobson McNairy. She was the 2nd wife of James A. Porter of Riverwood, in Nashville.
