Description:B. Carroll Reece is seated in a blue armchair at a desk with a green blotter. His hands rest upon papers on top of the desk. He is looking at the viewer while wearing a white shirt, brown suit and tie.
History of Work:Gift to the museum from Louise Goff Reece.
Notes:B. Carroll Reece represented Tennessee's First Congressional District in Congress from 1921-1931, then 1933-1947. Reece served as a senator from 1951 until his death in 1961. The B. Carroll Reece Museum was established as a tribute to the memory of First District Congressman B. Carroll Reece and as a "storehouse of knowledge . . . for the use of the University's students and the citizens of the state."
