Description:Subject is slightly turned to the right and is dressed in a period coat, vest, white shirt, and a watch fob is visible.
History of Work:Unknown – records of the painting are not on file in the Archives of the First Baptist Church.
Notes:The Reverend Skinner came to the First Baptist Church in Nashville from North Carolina in 1867. During this period, the Church struggled financially in the aftermath of the Civil War. Reverend Skinner became the minister of the First Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia in September of 1870.
