Description:The head of the subject is turned slightly to the right and he is dressed in a period coat, white shirt, and tie.
History of Work:Unknown – records of the painting are not on file in the Archives of the First Baptist Church.
Notes:Reverend Smith was asked by the Southern Baptist Convention to lead in the formation of the Baptist Sunday School Board (now Lifeway Christian Resources) which has grown into one of the world's largest religious publishing houses. Additionally during his tenure, the Church led in the founding of the Baptist Children's Home which now has campuses across Tennessee and operated through the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
