Description:Seated of a woman in a white gown with thin straps. Her hair is dark brown and wavy and her left hand is raised in a gesture with her palm toward her bust.
History of Work:
Notes: Subject (born ca. 1876 and died in 1964) married John M. Branham. They built Foxland Hall in Gallatin, TN. Subject was also the maternal Aunt of Col. Mosley Stratton Foster, Nina Stratton Foster's sister and daughter of Thomas and Laura Sumner Stratton. This portrait hung in the home of Stratton Foster's on Lynnwood Blvd. Nashville, TN until his death. It is now in a private collection.
