Description:Three-quarter length portrait of the subject facing three-quarter left on what appears to be a red settee. Her dark hair is parted in the middle with curls down to her shoulders, and her brown eyes are looking directly at the viewer. White trims the collar and cuffs of her very dark dress, and her hands are folded in front of her waist with her left arm resting on the red upholstered side of her seat.
History of Work:
Notes:Subject born 5 June 1808 died 1897. Daughter of Thomas Boswell Adams of VA and MD and Judith Bornley Adams. Subject married Peachy Ridgeway Taliaferro, son of Richard Henry Taliaferro of Orange County, Virginia. SFT - Fredericksburg, VA after marriage in Orange County, VA. Removed to Copiah County, Mississippi with land grants and died in Montana in 1897. Springhill Plantation in Gallatin, Mississippi, Copiah County.
