History of Work:Passed through the Stokes, Davis and Murfree families. Painted at Breezemont, the Stokes family home, on Stokes Plantation, Hillsboro Road, Nashville, TN, where I-440 currently passes through. Painter was Mrs. Stokes' Sister.
Notes:Gardener and friend of his employers, Walter Stokes, Sr. and his wife, Nellie Treanor Stokes.
