Description:Frame is gilt copper, original.

Oval tightly composed bust portrait of a man in a light blue jacket with one button showing. His eyes are light blue and his blond hair is formed into a stylized pyramidal wedge.
History:Painted in Philadelphia, PA. The artist is the same Robert Fulton who later gained fame as the perfector of the steamboat. There is an article on Fulton in THE MAGAZINE ANTIQUES, November 1987, p. 1132.
