Description:Balding man whose remaining dark hair forms a rounded widow's peak. His eyebrows are nearly conjoined. Seated and in formal attire, his right arm is draped over the wooden arm of a chair and his body is turned to his right to face the viewer nearly directly.
History of Work:Canvas may have been painted in barter exchange for medical services.
Notes:Subject was the son of Dr. Martin Walton & Elizabeth Johnson. He lived from 1800-1872.
