Description:Young boy seated on a stone step and holding a violin with his left hand on the strings at the neck. He is facing left with his left foot up on the step and some skin showing above his boot. His ragged jacket exposes the sleeve of the grey shirt on his right arm; he has a red muffler tied around his neck; and he is wearing a dark cap. His head is turned slightly to his right and he is looking over the head of the viewer.
