  • Description:Seated three-quarter right profile of older man in business attire. He wears a dark suit with a white handkerchief slightly visible in the breast pocket. His silver hair is straight and receding. His silver handlebar moustache is thick.
  • History:Although there has been some confusion over who painted this portrait, a letter from W. B Cooper in the owner's possession indicates that Naegele, not Cooper, painted this portrait.
  • Notes:Sitter was Speaker of the Tennessee Senate. Born 11/18/1844 in Columbia, TN. Died 9/29/1918 in Nashville.
