Description:Oval waist-length nearly frontal of a young man in a black suit, black satin vest, black tie, an white shirt. His dark brown very slightly wavy hair is parted above his right eye and falls to the middle of his ear. Only his right ear is visible. His eyes are large, wideset and brown. His lips are noticeably red and his cheeks also have high color.
History:Fire damaged, but restored by Cumberland Art Conservation Center in 1999.
Notes:Subject was born 5/3/1821 and married Martha Ann Carden 3/30/1842. He died 8/21/1847, three and a half months after his young wife died.
