His right hand crosses his left hand in front of his body as if resting on his left leg. He is an older gentleman in this portrait with grey hair. He is wearing a brown jacket, tan trousers and a red turtleneck shirt.

  • Notes:Robert Penn Warren was born April 24, 1904, in Guthrie, a railway junction and market town in southern Kentucky. In the fall of 1920 he entered the high school across the border in Clarksville, Tennessee, graduating at the age of fifteen. He went on to win two Pulitzer Prizes for his works, All the Kings Men and Promises: Poems 1954-1956.
