Notes:Elizabeth Rhodes Atchison, daughter of Thomas and Ophelia Clifton Atchison, was born in Nashville in 1858. In 1882, she married banker John Hill Eakin. They had no children. When she was widowed in 1904, she turned her full attention to the welfare and beautification of her home town. During the 1926 Sesquicentennial of Philadelphia, she was elected as "the outstanding living Tennessee woman in the field of civics." Mrs. Eakin died in 1936 and was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
