History:The wife of James Richardson willed the painting to her daughter, Allie Richardson Byrn. Allie passed it to her Daughter, Annie Mary Byrn Roberts, and Annie left it to her son, James D. R. Roberts.
Notes:Major James Daniel Richardson (1843-1914) served on the staff of the 45th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, CSA, during the Civil War. After the war he became a Murfreesboro attoney, state legislator, and long time member of the United States House of Representatives. He was a son of Dr. John Watkins Richardson and his wife Augusta Starnes Richardson, of Old Jefferson.
