Description:Nearly frontal waist-length of a young man in formal attire. His bow tie is askew to his right. His white shirt front has many small ruffles. The canvas is distinguished by several perforations. Acoording to the owner these were the result of Union soldiers "target practice."
History:Work was derived from an ambrotype of subject and his sister.
Notes:Subject was the son of William Franklin. He fell ill at Ft. Donelson and died at home.
