Description:Red leatherette box-type frame with satin lining. Auburn-haired man with hair swept up into a piled peak onthe top of his head. He is wearing a dark blue (?) coat, white vest, shirt and tie. His eyes appear to be blue.
History:Probably painted in the Boston area. . On a paper inside is written "John Bannister Painted as a Betrothal Gift for his future wife Miss Stell Exhibited Newport June 1890 #73 Property Miss Sayer-Undoubtedly by Henry Williams circa 1820."
