Description:Oval waist-length three-quarter right of balding man in a dark suit, plain starched white shirt and black necktie. He has dark curls of hair for sideburns. He has high pink coloring on his nose, chin, and (visible) right cheek.
History:Restored by Cumberland Art Conservation in the 1980s.

Sitter was Sec. of U.S. Treasury in Pierce administration; a U.S. Senator from Louisville, KY 1865-1869 (death); President of the L&N Railroad and President of the University of Louisville.
