  • Notes:Major Lewis M. Maney was the son of Dr. James Maney. Major Maney's grandfather was Col. Hardy Murfree through his mother, who was the daughter of Col. Murfree. Lewis Meredith Maney was born in 1823 and died in 1882. He married Rachel Cannon, daughter of Gov. Newton Cannon.
