Notes:Subject born in Winchester, Virginia 12 June 1860, son of Angus W. McDonald and Cornelia Peake. He was educated in Louisville, Kentucky and Washington and Lee University. He was one of the founders of the Engineering Association of the South and one of its first presidents. During the World War, he served as chief engineer of the NC and StL the Central Railroad and the Birmingham & Northwestern under federal operation. He was president of the American Railway Engineering in 1904-05 and president of the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1914. His great-grandfathers' image is also on this site - Angus McDonald.
