History:There is a copy of this portrait at the Tennessee State Museum.
Notes:Subject born February 6, 1763 in Rockbridge County, VA, moved to Nashville in 1786, and died there August 7, 1838. He was first married to Elizabeth McDowell, and his second marriage was to Mrs. Mary Hubble.
